| Ebony jewelwing damselfly |
Summertime means, amongst many other things, a marked increase in beautiful bugs. My favorites, of course, tend to be the pretty things -- and especially the pretty unusual things. Most recently, I encountered a small swarm of ebony jewelwing damselflies at Glen Park. I really can't recall having ever seen this particular species before, though I could be wrong.

| Giant unidentified crazy moth |
Last week, we spotted this large furry moth on a brick wall. I have no clue what kind of moth this is, but it seemed like one of the giant moths that lives three of four fornication-filled days and then falls to the Earth dead. Hope you had fun, my little mariposa.
Tomorrow I step gleefully off the grid for a few days. We're taking a mini-vacation to DC for the long weekend. Lovely!
